A Unique and Timeless Jewel Inspired by Nature

Design is inspired by nature. I'm really fascinated by plant life which is a true bursting of shapes and textures. Nature is everywhere around us and we sometimes forget how it's a real part of our lives. It's in this plentiful universe I took my inspiration. Shapes, textures, structures of plant life are rich and fabulous, giving an infinity of possibilities.

Christine Alexandre, the renowned designer behind the Pollen ring, has created a truly remarkable piece of jewelry that captures the essence of nature. The design is a celebration of the beauty and intricacy found in plant life, with its diverse shapes and textures.

What sets the Pollen ring apart from other jewelry designs is its unique properties. Alexandre uses nature as a pretext to give life to her jewels, playing with textures, lights, and shadows. The style is pure, aiming to reach the substance of plant life. The result is a jewel that is not only visually stunning but also deeply connected to nature.

The Pollen ring is meticulously crafted using a combination of traditional and modern techniques. Each piece starts as a fine sculpture in wax, which is then transformed into sterling silver through the lost casting wax system. The hand-made finishings are carefully done to enhance the textures of the design. Some pieces are even gold plated, adding an extra touch of luxury.

With dimensions of 19mm in width, 8mm in depth, and 26mm in height, the Pollen ring is a statement piece that demands attention. Despite its size, it weighs a mere 4.5 grams, ensuring comfort for the wearer.

When wearing the Pollen ring, one can't help but feel a deep connection to nature. It serves as a reminder of the beauty and sensuality found in the natural world. Alexandre's design successfully bridges the gap between the wearer and nature, creating a harmonious interaction.

The Pollen ring project began in May 2011 in Liege and was completed in November 2011. It has since been exhibited at the international jewelry show in Paris in July 2012, as well as in January and July 2013.

Alexandre's research for the Pollen ring was centered around the exploration of plant life. She collected fragments of nature to extract the essence of each shape, texture, and structure. The result is a collection of jewels that are not only visually stunning but also deeply rooted in the natural world.

Designing the Pollen ring came with its fair share of challenges. Alexandre aimed to emphasize the essence of plant life while creating a smooth and sensual jewel that is both discreet and visible. The goal was to create a timeless piece of nature that would stand the test of time.

The Pollen ring is a true testament to Alexandre's talent and creativity. Each piece is an interpretation of a fragment of nature, with the aim of providing a jewel that is unique and timeless. The hand-made finishings enhance the textures and particularities of the design, resulting in a piece that is truly one-of-a-kind.

It comes as no surprise that the Pollen ring has received accolades and recognition in the design world. In 2014, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category. This prestigious award is a testament to the Pollen ring's outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
